Program Terms & Conditions

Applicant must be a current City of Big Bear Lake Department of Water & Power (BBLDWP) account holder.
One rain barrel is provided at no cost per eligible account.
Rain barrels must remain installed at the service address on record.

The customer assumes full responsibility for the installation, use, maintenance, and condition of the rain barrel.
BBLDWP makes no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the performance, safety, or durability of the rain barrel.
BBLDWP is not responsible for any damage, injury, or loss arising from possession or use of the rain barrel.
No replacements or additional products will be provided.

Customers are solely responsible for installation and operation.
BBLDWP assumes no responsibility for any improper installation or resulting damages.
Collected water shall not be used for human or animal consumption.
Rain barrels must not be connected to any potable water system.
The customer is responsible for mosquito and pest control, including any necessary treatments or maintenance to prevent standing water issues.

A pre-inspection of the property may be required.
After installation, customers must submit a photograph of the installed rain barrel to BBLDWP for verification.

In consideration of participation in the Rain Barrel Rebate Program, I, the undersigned, hereby acknowledge and agree to the following:

I accept full and sole responsibility for the installation, maintenance, use, and condition of the rain barrel provided by BBLDWP.
I understand that BBLDWP makes no representation or warranty as to the safety, condition, or suitability of the rain barrel for any particular purpose.
I release, indemnify, and hold harmless the City of Big Bear Lake Department of Water & Power, its officers, employees, agents, and representatives from any and all claims, damages, or liabilities of any kind that may arise from participation in the program or use of the rain barrel.
